Within this book of short stories the author focuses her attention on a series of female characters who for one reason or another accompany someone on a journey. These people mean very little to them to begin with, however as the journeys progress they reveal more about who they are and the nature of their relationships to the other. The reader discovers a rare stubbornness to be themselves within these uneasy dreamers, taking part in their unexpected moments of intense happiness and fleeting realisations, the kind which we all hope to experience on our journeys.
